RE:BASE Lab
Reconnection to Nature from an Urban Base
Nature and wildlife do not conform to human society.
RE:BASE Lab is an educational platform that uses nature and wildlife as a lens to nurture the ability to ask questions, think from multiple perspectives, and make thoughtful judgments in the age of AI.
Concept
AI is changing how we access knowledge.
In this era, the value of asking one's own questions, thinking from multiple perspectives, and making thoughtful judgments will only continue to grow.
Why RE:BASE Lab?
In 2018, an encounter with a mother bear and her cubs in Shiretoko became the beginning of everything.
After the mother bear was later killed, my interest expanded from nature itself to people, society, education, communities, and public systems.
To understand nature is also to understand human beings.
Platform
Hunters, farmers, nature guides, wildlife photographers, and others.
The knowledge held by people with firsthand experience in the field is passed on to the next generation through connections with schools, children, companies, universities, public agencies, and many other organizations.
RE:BASE Lab is a platform that creates a cycle of regional co-creation by connecting people with nature, people with communities, and people with one another.
Platform
Connecting people with nature, communities, and one another to create a cycle of regional co-creation.

Philosophy
While nature and wildlife are the entrance, RE:BASE Lab is ultimately looking at what learning should become in an age of constant change.
01
Nature has things that do not change.
Human society, meanwhile, is always changing.
RE:BASE Lab values the perspective to see both what remains and what changes.
02
Knowledge alone does not change a person.
Learning becomes real when it is connected to action.
03
Learning through nature may not look practical at first glance.
Yet experiences that seem indirect can deepen and enrich a person's way of seeing the world.
Programs
01
Students learn how nature is connected through ecosystems, food chains, invasive species, and local environments.
02
Through wildlife, students consider respect for life and the distance between humans and nature.
03
Encounters with local companies and specialists broaden children's perspectives and future choices.
04
We collaborate with companies and communities around next-generation development and regional co-creation.
